AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” is a song from the album Back in Black. The song was also included on their later album Who Made Who.
It is AC/DC’s first single with Brian Johnson as the lead singer. Bon Scott officially died of alcohol poisoning in February 1980, but there was speculation that he died of a drug overdose and alcohol poisoning.
According to Triple M’s “Ozzest 100”, which lists the ‘most Australian’ songs of all time, “You Shook Me All Night Long” was ranked number 63.
AC/DC’s rendition of the song is also a staple of their concert setlists.
A total of four live versions of the song have been released. The band first released it on their 1986 maxi-single “You Shook Me All Night Long”; the band released the second one on their album Live; the third version appears on the soundtrack to the Howard Stern film Private Parts, as well as on the AC/DC box set Backtracks; and the band released the fourth one on their live album Live at River Plate. AC/DC’s performance of “You Shook Me All Night Long” was the second song they performed on Saturday Night Live in 2000, following “Stiff Upper Lip.” AC/DC performed this song when Steven Tyler of Aerosmith inducted AC/DC to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
AC/DC is probably the band that Daria and Sergey prefer to cover. Perhaps because they can achieve the greatest range with it. According to Daria, she only covers songs that suit her voice. It may be, but I rather think that the covers that can achieve a lot of coverage are chosen in a targeted manner.
