Scorpions – Rock You Like A Hurricane

The Scorpions’ song “Rock You Like a Hurricane” is considered to be their signature song. Their ninth studio album, Love at First Sting (1984), featured the song as the lead single. Klaus Meine, Herman Rarebell, and Rudolf Schenker wrote the song, while Dieter Dierks arranged and produced it. Interestingly, the lyrics of “Rock You Like a Hurricane” also reference the title of the album on which it originally appeared – Love at First Sting. A combination of hair metal, heavy metal, hard rock, and arena rock is used in the song.

The song charted at number 25 in the USA Billboard Hot 100, which greatly contributed to the success of the album. MTV also heavily played the video.

On the album Moment of Glory, the track was re-recorded in the year 2000 as “Hurricane 2000,” with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra backing it. Similarly, it was titled “Hurricane 2001” on the follow-up album Acoustica. On their 2011 album Comeblack, the band released a third re-recording. The 2011 Comeblack re-recording was featured in a commercial for Fiber One cookies in 2014, as well as an episode of the horror comedy film Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse in 2015. The 2019 Hellboy film featured a version recorded in Spanish by Steph Honde and Micki Milosevic, known as Unprotected Innocence. For the Trolls World Tour, Rachel Bloom performed the song as Barb.

Darias Version

What a perfect way to describe these two amazing singers. “ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE“. I can only describe it as music at full volume and on the dance floor “ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE”.
